The band is ready for the home stretch of the 2025-2026 season.  There are only two chances left for the public to dance to Swing Memories.  The Merrymakers Dance Club and Legion Post 2.  Please check out our calendar for time and address information.  Happy dancing!

Tuesday, February 3rd
Swing Memories Big Band is well into this 2025-2026 winter season.  We started off the season playing 2 Veterans Day performances on a perfect AZ day.  We have had a mix of dances and concerts this year.  We have enjoyed playing for the amazing dancers and the different dance styles as well as playing for the concert goers.  

Monday, April 7th
The 2024-2025 winter season is nearing a close.  We are already booking dates for next season.  We look forward to playing and hoping that you and your friends come out to see us either listening or dancing.  We wish all the winter visitors a great summer.

Swing Memories Big Band will be playing a free concert at One Life Church of Mesa from 6-8 pm.

Happy New Year!  Last night we had a great group of dancers at Las Palmas Grand for the Merrymakers Dance Club.  This is a weekly event during the winter on Thursday evenings with great bands playing many dance styles.  There is a cover charge and always dress to impress.  Check out their website:

Monday, October 29th
Swing Memories Big Band is getting ready to start another winter season.  We have several private and open to the public performances planned.  We will be starting off by paying tribute to our Veterans.  Our first public performance is a dance at The Good Life.  This is a charitable event for MD Anderson Cancer Hospital with a $10 cash donation.  We will be covering several dance styles including Line Dancing which was a huge hit last year.  We hope to see you out there to help support this worthy event.  See the Home Page for details.

Saturday, April 6th - 29th Annual Sentimental Dreams Dance 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Dance to Big Band Music performed by 16-piece Orchestra - Swing Memories Band.  This is Post 2's Annual Boys and Girls State Fundraiser.  Admission is $15.00 and includes hors d'oeuvres/dessert.  There will be a large 50/50 and beautiful raffle baskets.  Even if you don't dance, please come down and support this worthy cause and enjoy the music! 
The evening was a huge success.

March 20, 2024
Swing Memories played a wonderful dance at Leisure World for their Moonlight Serenade Dance.  We then played our final dance for this season at the Tumbleweed Grill.  We have been pleased with the overflow turnout for both performances.
February 8, 2024
Swing Memories sent 2023 off with a great turnout at the Merrymakers Dance Club on Dec. 28th at Las Palmas Grand.  It is so fun playing for these dancers.  The highlight was when we brought in the new year and they all formed a huge circle and closing the circle with hands joined and arms raised, so moving.
We had a huge turnout at the Tumbleweed Grill last night.  We were able to play a variety of music for our patrons.  
December 22, 2023
Swing Memories had a Christmas concert at Maravilla on Monday.  Followed by our Wednesday dance at the Tumbleweed Saloon in A.J.  It was a chance to play more of our Christmas and winter weather charts.  We will be playing December 28th at Las Palmas Grand for the New Years Eve celebration for the Merrymakers Dance Club.  Great to see the dancers dance to the different styles of music.

December 6, 2023
We have started playing the winter holiday music.  We had a nice time playing at the Tumbleweed Grill.  We saw some dancers that are enjoying our classic music.

Swing Memories Big Band had a busy three days celebrating Veterans Day.  One set was dedicated to some of the history and music in the war years and was well received by our Veterans.

The Swing Memories Big Band started off the season last night for the Sr. group at One Life Church.  The audience was very appreciative of the performance by the band.  Thanks to Pastor Bo for his fine leadership.

Merrymakers Dance Club
It may seem like a way off, but the dancing season will be upon us before we know it! Hurray!
This upcoming season, we've teamed up with the Merry Makers Dance Club, a local group in the East Valley. Otherwise, I think their title says it all. If you love dancing, then this might just be the club for you. Check out their website at www.dancemm.com.
It will be a lot of fun and I hope our usual dancing fans can come and join us at one of these events. These dances will all be held at Las Palmas Grande, which has a fantastic ballroom, both for dancing and even for just listening to music.

The summer began over Memorial Day weekend with a couple gigs. It was beautiful swinging weather, and it was a lot of fun to get our summer roster started. Thanks to our fans who turned out for some swinging tunes and great dancing. We'll be there again the first Saturday in December for a very special Pearl Harbor Day celebration. Expect a good set of swinging patriotic tunes as well as some fun Christmas music to dance to!

We've got a couple of other gigs coming right up: This coming Saturday at the Elk's Lodge in Phoenix and then Veteran's Day at the Citadel. We like to keep busy!

I'll post some pictures as soon as I can.

We had a nice gig last Wednesday at La Loma Village and today is our usual Memorial Day event at The Citadel. We're looking forward to celebrating our nation's soldiers today. Thanks to all who have served to keep us free!

We recently donned our tuxedos and played for Noah and Kaitlyn Taylor's wedding at La Dolce Vita this past Friday, April 19th. It was a swinging night with lots of great big band classics and young and old alike dancing the night away.

We've been busy swingin' all over the valley lately. Aside from our monthly gigs at Warren's and the VFW, we've just finished a long string of performances at a number of other places: A USO fundraiser at Merrill Gardens, a Veteran's Day event at Phoenix Elk's Lodge 335 and another Veteran's Day event at The Citadel. Lots of dancing and music making--good times had by all.

This Saturday we return to the AZ Vet's Home in Phoenix. That's a fun gig and the vets there really love hearing our music. And we're glad to make it for them!

As always--thanks to all of you that come and listen and dance at our events. It's fun to play jazz and swing music... but it's more fun when folks are dancing and having a good time!

We had a great time playing at Warren's the other night! We're hoping to play there on a regular basis beginning in August or September. It's a great venue--good food and drinks and room for dancing. It was even a family-friendly place; I saw a few kids dancing and enjoying the music. Thanks to all who came to listen and dance!
